Camden, Magnolia men die in crashes

A Camden man died Wednesday morning when the tractor-trailer rig he was driving hit a car that had run a stop sign in Fordyce, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Rudolph S. Jeffus, 77, was traveling south on Arkansas 9 about 10 a.m. when his 2006 Peterbilt hit a 2019 Chevrolet that ran a stop sign on Arkansas 273, the report said. The truck hit the back of the Chevrolet and then hit a tree.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Sierra L. Beets, 26, of Bearden, and a minor were injured in the crash.

Road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, the report said.

On Tuesday, a 29-year-old Magnolia man died when his car crossed the centerline on U.S. 167 in rural Calhoun County and struck an oncoming car, an Arkansas State Police report said.

Jordan Deshaun McBride was driving north on the highway at 2:10 p.m. when his 2009 Lexus crossed into the southbound lane and stuck a 2016 Dodge head on, according to the report.

Two people in the Dodge, 54-year-old Dennis Price and 21-year-old Krishaun Anthony Price, both of Memphis, were injured, the report said.

Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, the report said.
