Traffic accidents kill 3 Arkansans

Three people were killed in highway accidents Wednesday in Arkansas, according to reports by the Arkansas State Police.

Kentrell A. Ivory, 24, of Springdale was killed at approximately 12:03 a.m. when he was hit by a truck while attempting to run across Interstate 30 in Miller County, according to a report.

Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the incident, the report said.

A 47-year-old Thornton woman died in a one-car crash at approximately 6:30 a.m. in Calhoun County.

Alisa Jones was riding in a 2020 Hyundai Accent when it ran off Chambersville Road in a curve in Thornton and struck several trees, the report said. The driver, Charles R. Jones, 51, was injured in the crash and taken to UAMS in Little Rock.

Road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, the report said.

Gary U. Godwin, 60, of Story died after the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving ran off Arkansas 27 in Story at approximately 6:40 a.m. and hit a tree, a state police report said.
