Work on a $100.6 million project to replace the Interstate 40 bridge over the White River will require overnight lane closings for five days beginning today, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.

Weather permitting, crews will alternately close a single lane on a 2-mile section of I-40 westbound between Hazen and Biscoe in Prairie County from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily through Saturday and from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday nights, all weather permitting.

Traffic will be controlled by barrels and signs, according to the department.
