A second Simmons Bank branch in White Hall will undergo construction on the northeast corner of Robin Road and Sheridan Road with plans to open in early 2022.

Simmons Bank on Thursday morning announced the purchase of 2.24 acres of land for the new location at 1308 Robin Road. The other branch is located at 8107 Dollarway Road.

Construction of the new branch is awaiting regulatory approval.

"With the announcement of our second branch in White Hall, Simmons Bank intends to provide more convenience to our customers in Jefferson County," Simmons regional community President Daniel Robinson said. "The current location in White Hall is one of the most frequently visited branches in our company. This new location will provide a larger branch and additional access for our growing customer base."

White Hall has seen a rise in the number of banks establishing new branches in recent years. Relyance Bank, formerly known as Pine Bluff National Bank, announced in July it's moving its headquarters to White Hall.

White Hall Chamber of Commerce President Joe Spadoni credits the boon of banking options to the growth of the city itself.

"A lot of new businesses are out here, now," Spadoni said. "Colton's [restaurant] is out here. People come from all over, even out of state, to come to Hunter's Refuge. The business [in White Hall] is growing."

Simmons Bank, headquartered in Pine Bluff, has 2,800 employees. It operates in seven states, including Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, and has $2.4 billion in total assets.

"The support and growth of our customer base in White Hall has been outstanding and we're proud to meet that growing demand for our services by adding a second location," Robinson said. "We have called Jefferson County home for over a century and it is an honor to be a part of our continued growth here."
