Visitors bureau hires sales exec

The Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau has hired a new director of sales, according to a news release issued Tuesday.

Adam Berrios previously worked as senior sales manager for the tourism and economic development agency VisitGreenvilleSC, as well as the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau in Alpharetta, Ga.

Berrios will lead efforts to attract conventions and meetings to Little Rock, according to the release.

"We're glad to have Adam join the LRCVB team," Gina Gemberling, the bureau's vice president of sales and services, said in a statement. "His strategic-driven approach to business development is a welcomed sales addition as we continue to secure convention business for the city."

Virtual college fair set for this month

Little Rock students will have the opportunity to attend a virtual college fair later this month, featuring 28 historically Black colleges and universities, according to a city news release issued Thursday.

Five hundred Little Rock students can attend the Friday event free of charge if they register with the city because of a private donation and $350 in concession revenue from the West Central Community Center, the city announced.

Among the colleges and universities expected to be represented at the college fair are: Arkansas Baptist College, Philander Smith College and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, according to the news release.

Students can sign up to attend at littlerock.gov/collegefair.
