PREP BASEBALL

FS Southside 8, Alma 7 (8)

A bases-loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Parker Wehunt with the game-winner for the Mavs.

Southside rallied from a seven-run first-inning deficit to claim the win in comeback fashion. THe Mavs scored at least one run in the final four innings.

Wehunt reached on an error to lead off the eighth for Southside and moved to second on a passed ball. Braxton Waller laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Wehunt to third and Alma issued back-to-back intentional walks to load the bases.

Ty Wiley and Jake Forsgren had RBIs for the Mavs and Kent Carlisle added a double.

Alma had seven hits on the day, all singles.

Prairie Grove vs. Lincoln

Casey Shipley fired a no-hitter and the Tigers broke the game open with back-to-back five-run innings on Friday.

Shipley struck out 11 and walked 3 over 4 innings.

Prairie Grove belted six extra-base hits including three triples. In addition to his no-hitter, Shipley was 3-for-3 at the dish with a triple, double and 4 RBIs. Ryder Orr and Jackson Sorters were both 2-for-4 and Sorters added a triple. Davis Stephens also tripled for the Tigers.

Springdale High 7, Siloam Springs 6

The Bulldogs claimed a walk-off victory on a Siloam Springs error on Thursday.

Cooper Combs led off the seventh inning with a double and moved to third on an error. After back-to-back intentional walks to load the bases, Clay Van Vacter's ground ball scored Combs from third base.

Combs was 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for the Red'Dogs and Van Vacter drove in 3 runs.

Jacob Gilbert homered for Siloam Springs and Elijah Coffey and Christian Ledeker each belted doubles.

Bentonville 4, Sheridan 3

The Tigers held on late for a one-run win Friday.

After Sheridan rallied to cut Bentonville's lead to one run with two outs in the seventh, Ty Riley came on to record a strikeout on four pitches to end the game.

Peyton Gorman was 2-for-2 to lead Bentonville's four-hit attack.

Ashton Branson was 2-for-4 for Sheridan.

Fort Smith Northside 2, Springdale 1

Northside defeated Springdale to improve to 4-1.

Cesar Perez and Victor Luevano each scored goals for the Grizzlies.

GIRLS

Fort Smith Northside 4, Springdale 0

Rosa Centeno scored two goals for Northside, which improved to 5-0 on the season.

Laisha Zarate and Elena Centeno also contributed scores while Gracie Hardbarger posted the shutout in the net for the Lady Bears.

PREP SOFTBALL

Bentonville West 2, Bryant 1

Held scoreless for five innings, the Lady Wolverines finally broke through in the top of the sixth, scoring a pair of runs to claim a tight nonconference win Friday.

With one out, Sarah Cooper singled to start the sixth inning rally. Ryen Rassi walked to put two runners on and Laynee Tapp crushed a two-run double to plate Cooper and Rassi.

That was all the offense West pitcher Elise Sokolsky needed. She stymied Bryant over the final two innings to nail down the win, capping a complete-game three-hitter that included 11 strikeouts.

Cooper was 2-for-3 for the Lady Wolverines and Caroline Wilhelm was also 2-for-3.

Bryant's Chrissy Metford was also solid in the circle, scattering 6 hits with 5 strikeouts.

West (3-0) will host Gravette on Monday before opening 6A-West Conference action at Fayetteville on Tuesday.

Rogers High 10, Berryville 0

Madison Heinle hurled a no-hitter over 4 innings and struck out all 12 batters she faced as the Lady Mounties rolled to a run-rule win Friday.

Heinle needed just 51 pitches before retiring for the day. Ella Beeman went the final inning for Rogers and struck out three.

Heinle also dominated at the dish, going 2-for-2 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Jenna Williams was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBIs and Emma Kate Jackson blasted a solo homer for Rogers (4-0).

Charleston 12, Lavaca 0

Rylee Ross allowed just one hit over 4 innings in a shutout win Thursday.

Charleston blasted 13 hits with doubles by Deci Young, Jordyn Sims, Ross, Addison Newhart, Maddy Flynn and Kyndall Haney. Ross and Flynn each drove in 3 runs for the Lady Tigers.

Booneville 2, Paris 1

The Lady Bearcats claimed a narrow win Friday, making the most of their two hits.

Layla Byrum drove in a run for Booneville and Sarah Ulmer had the other hit.

Jayden Hart had both hits for Paris including a double.

FS Southside 1, Alma 0

A run in the fourth inning was all Lady Mavs' pitcher Meliah Hunter needed in a shutout win Friday.

Hunter allowed just 4 hits and struck out 7 to earn the win in the circle.

Reese Robinson, Madi Conklin and Hunter had hits for Southside.
