Trumann woman struck in road dies

A Trumann woman died early Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle while standing in the middle of a traffic lane on Interstate 555 in Craighead County, according to an Arkansas State Police summary.

April Sills, 38, was standing with her arms outstretched near mile marker 32 at 3:33 a.m. when she was struck by a 2001 Toyota driven by 50-year-old Jerry Stone of Bartlett, Tenn., the summary said.

Stone was injured and was taken to North East Arkansas Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, according to the summary.

Conditions at the time of the incident were rainy with wet roads, according to the report.
