• St. Edward Catholic Church, 801 Sherman St., will celebrate its 138th Homecoming Anniversary and Feast Day Oct. 8-9. Visitors can view a replica of the Shroud of Turin in the gymnasium and enjoy refreshments and a memorabilia display in the cafeteria from 1-6 p.m. Oct. 8 with an English Mass at 4 p.m.; Oct. 9, the same activities are from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with an English Mass at 9 a.m. and a Spanish Mass at noon. • St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 2001 Club Manor, Suite N, Maumelle, will host the St. Francis Blessing of the Animals service at Lake Willastein Park in Maumelle from 3-5 p.m. Sunday. All creatures, great and small, are welcome, and will receive a certificate of blessing, a St Francis medal, treats and a collapsible dog bowl.
