Jonesboro man arrested in connection with shooting that injured a teen girl

The Jonesboro Police Department arrested a man Monday in connection with a shooting that injured a 16-year-old girl, according to police reports.

The girl was shot at 212 North Rogers Street around 3:20 p.m. Monday, the reports said. 

According to the reports, Dedward James, 19, of Jonesboro, was arrested just after 5:30 p.m. He was charged with terroristic act, according to the online inmate roster for Craighead County jail. James was still listed on the inmate roster at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. 

The identity of the girl was not immediately released. 

Sally Smith, a spokesperson for the Jonesboro police, said Tuesday afternoon that she did not have an update on the status of the victim. 

Smith said James was expected to have a probable cause hearing Wednesday.
