One man was killed in a two-car crash Monday afternoon in Lonoke County, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report.

Michael Hampton, 73, of England, was driving west on U.S. 165 near Arkansas 31 in Coy about 1:20 p.m. when his 2005 vehicle collided with the back of a 1999 Volvo, the report said. Hampton's vehicle and the Volvo both came to a rest in the southbound lane facing north on Arkansas 31.

The driver of the Volvo was not listed on the crash report.

The investigating trooper noted that weather conditions were clear and the road was dry.
