Louise Wilson

Louise Wilson, 85, of Hot Springs died Thursday, with her children by her side. She was born on Nov. 19, 1924, at Lepanto, Ark., the daughter of Grover Cleveland Yates and Carrie Lea Page Yates. In October 1951, she married Roy W. Wilson. They were married for 34 years before his death in October 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-daughter, Royce Ann Gathercole; her infant daughter, Louise; three sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by her beloved children, Roy W. "Woody" Wilson Jr. of Hot Springs, Diana Wilson of Little Rock, Lesa Strange and husband, Steve, of Little Rock and Sandra Maloney and husband, Tom, of San Antonio, Texas; and step-son, Darius Wilson and his wife, Joyce, of Claremore, Okla. She was blessed to enjoy her grandchildren; great-grandsons; and her great-granddaughter. She will be missed by a host of friends, her loving nephews, her wonderful nieces and all those whose lives were touched by her presence. She was a member of Harmony Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and will see her friends from that class in Heaven. Please note: Visitation will be Sunday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Hot Springs. Services are at 2 p.m., Monday at Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs with Rev. Mike Pounders officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wade Hall, Grover Hall, John Lester, Mike Vaughn, Steve Strange, Steve Jackson and Tom Maloney. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Harmony Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials requested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 2350 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Ark. 71901.
