Edgar LaRon Meeks, 68, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. He was born April 2, 1942 in Drew County. He was a retired teacher, Monticello fireman and Drew County Sheriff from 2000 to 2002. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran, a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and was the son of the late George Edgar Meeks and Olive Elma Guthrie Meeks. Survivors include his wife, Jane Wardlaw Meeks of Monticello; two sons, Jeffery LaRon Meeks and wife, Lexy and Jonathan Scott Meeks, all of Monticello; one daughter, Laura Elizabeth Pyle and husband, Jason of El Dorado; one brother, Kirby Meeks of Monticello; four grandchildren.
