Ruth Ann Cumbie Bruce

Hope, AR, 1918 - 2010

Mrs. Ruth Ann Cumbie Bruce, 92, lifelong resident of Hope, Ark. passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010. She was born January 10, 1918 in Hempstead County. She was preceded in death by her parents, ten of her siblings, her husband, Lit Bruce in 1976 and son, Max Bruce in 2001. She was a charter member of St. John United Methodist Church, Hope, Arkansas. She was loved by everyone who ever met her and will be remembered as the most loving, giving person anyone ever knew.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Bruce, Texarkana, Arkansas, two grandchildren: Rebecca and Rick Merriman, Beebe, Arkansas; John and Joanna Bruce, Maud, Texas; one sister, Dortha Faye and Sam Huckabee, Hope, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four special sisters-in-law, Bobbie Cumbie, Searcy, Ark., Inez Cumbie, Benton, Ark., Lovena Barber, Loveland, Ohio and Ina Bruce, Wichita, Kan.
Memorial Services: 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2010, St. John United Methodist Church, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Visitation: 10 a.m. prior to service, at the church.
