Nellie Bell Wade, 96, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2010. She was born on May 23, 1914 to John and Sophronia Gammel in Sheridan, Arkansas. A faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church, Nellie was a powerful prayer warrior and a good and faithful servant of her Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The last living member of her generation, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophronia Gammel; her brother Commodore Gammel; her sisters Bea Lewis and Lucy Teer; her husband Oscar Wade; her son Jerry "Giggie" Wade and her great-grandson Cody Wade. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Peggy Farra of North Little Rock; her son John Wade of Alberta, Canada; her grandchildren Sean Farra, Keith Wade, Melissa Wade Dillinger, John William Wade, Rebecca Wade Broadley and Rachel Wade; her seven great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews and a host of other extended family and friends especially her neighborhood family, all who will miss her dearly. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Sherwood Rehab and Nursing and to Arkansas Hospice for their loving care of Nellie. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Little Rock National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th, Little Rock, Ark. 72204. (501) 661-9111.
