Ethel McKinney, age 92, of Hot Springs, died Friday, July 30, 2010. She was born on July 6, 1918 at Bigelow, the daughter of the late Richard Henry Caldwell and Mary Ida Dixon Caldwell. On February 25, 1944, she was married to Walter Lee "Dub" McKinney who preceded her in death on November 22, 1953. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Ethel retired from Paramount Pictures in Hollywood as a set designer where she worked with many famous actors and actresses. She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and was a Presbyterian in faith. She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Leonard of Hot Springs; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock with Rev. Wes Bennett officiating, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Pallbearers will be Gary Ashcraft, Tommy Garner, Danny Garner, Richard Mickens, John Mickens and Dayton Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Randy Hill and the staff of Garland Health and Rehab. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
