Gladys Jerene Cook, known as Jerrye to many of her friends passed away on August 5, 2010 at the age of 86. She had been a member of Levy Baptist Church for many years. She worked at Tuf-Nut in her younger years but most of her employment was selling shoes a J.C. Penney's and Somers Shoe Store. Jerrye was married to Franklin (Frank) Cook for 37 years until he passed away in 1982. Their courtship was short but nothing shy of a fairy tale to her daughter. During WWII Frank and a friend were coming home and they stopped at a little diner in Little Rock to eat. Frank saw Jerrye and told his friend that she was the one he was going to marry. A few short months later they were married and together until Frank passed away. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Earlene Wilder; grandson, Aaron Wilder (Tiffany); granddaughter, Angela Kyzer (Mike); three great-grandchildren, Hali Wilder, Cody Kyzer, Austin Wilder; brother, Ernest Copeland (Clara); sister-in-law, Judy Copeland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
