Jean Smith Glasner

Jean Smith Glasner, 67, of Nixa, Missouri passed away on August 4, 2010 surrounded by her family following a long illness. She was born on July 18, 1943, the daughter of Arlie M. and Alice Marie Porter Smith in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jean was very devoted to her family and special friends. She was a graduate of Fuller High School, Little Rock, Arkansas. Jean was a retired clerical court clerk, a Protestant by faith. She enjoyed wildlife, feeding and watching hummingbirds, barbecues, fishing, camping, cooking, and sewing. Jean loved being a traditionalist with her family. Jean was united in marriage on August 15, 1961 to Bill Glasner, and to this union two children were born. A son, John Thomas Glasner and his wife Connie, of Washington, Missouri; and Kathy Calhoun and her husband Lyndall of Nixa, Missouri. She is survived also by her five grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters Margarett McCuine and husband J.D., Letha Fithen and Grace Ball of Little Rock, Arkansas, Edgar Smith, Texas, Allen Smith and wife Judy, Little Rock, Arkansas, Cathy Eccher and Phil, Wisconsin, Janie Clemens of Little Rock, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Linda Eccher, and an infant son, Michael Glasner. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 9, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. The family will receive family and friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 8. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, 109 N. Truman Blvd., Nixa, Missouri.
