Henry Morrison Thomas of Little Rock died Saturday, August 7, 2010. He was born on January 4, 1920 in Ladelle, Arkansas to the late Henry and Olga Thomas; both from long time Arkansas families. He was married 59 years to beloved wife, Freda Granoff Thomas, who died in 1998. Henry and Freda started Thomas Pest Control and Termite Company in 1952 which continues as a Little Rock business under co-owner and daughter Marilyn Thomas Robison. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Arkansas Pest Management Association and Arkansas Home Builders Association. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a life member of the Scimitar Shrine Temple and a member of the Pulaski Heights Lodge. Mr. Thomas' passions included fishing, hunting and golf having won several semi-professional tournaments. Music was another passion and he played drums in a "Big Band" orchestra. Mr. Thomas was also an avid horse racing fan and charter member of the Oaklawn Jockey Club, having ownership of several horses that ran at the Oaklawn Race Track. He is survived by his daughters Marilyn Thomas Robison and Bliss Morrison Thomas of Little Rock; two grandsons, Todd Robison and his wife Susan, and their daughters Sydney and Samara Robison of Westport, Conn., Brian Robison and his wife Jodi, and their sons Eli and Noah Robison of Westport, Conn. A private burial was held on Monday, August 9 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark. An open memorial service will be held this Friday, August 13 at 11 a.m. at the Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home Chapel on West 12th Street and officiated by Rabbi Eugene H. Levy. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. C. D. Williams, Dr. J. Malcolm Moore, Mr. Pete Hornibrook, Mr. Bobby Hill, Mr. Terry Burnett, Mr. Steve Bauman, and Dr. Jim Moore. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Arkansas Heart Hospital, Attn: Vicki Wingfield, 1701 S. Shackleford Rd., Little Rock, Ark. 72211.
