Albert Alvin Owen, 85, of Conway, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was born June 15, 1925, in Redfield, Arkansas, a son of the late Joe M. and Charity (Croy) Owen. Mr. Owen was a member of Pickles Gap Baptist Church for over 30 years; and was a 32nd Degree Mason over 50 years. He was retired from the United States Navy, where he was a Master Chief in the submarine service; having served in World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Margaret Jeanette (Ketchum) Owen; children, Michael A. Owen and wife Sherry; Val George and Ted Owen, all of Conway; grandchildren, Cori Henderson and husband Dooley; Owen George; Ty Owen and wife Ariana; Bridgett Chase and husband Paul; Kit Owen and wife Becca; Katie Cure and husband Josh; Jacob and Aowl Owen; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Ashley, Annie Taylor and Myrtle Porter all of Orin; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010, in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, with Ty Owen officiating. Burial, with Masonic and Military honors, will follow at 2 p.m., in Orion Cemetery, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. 501-327-7727.
