MARION VIRGIL TALLEY, 87, was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Murphysboro, Ill., to the late Ed and Mae Ellen Talley. He passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010. He was a deacon of Park Hill Baptist Church of North Little Rock where he and his wife attended since 1966. He was drafted into the army on Feb. 23, 1943, and spent 16 months in the South Pacific. He retired from the Veterans Administration in June of 1981. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and May Ellen Talley, and two brothers, Edward and Wilbur Talley, and three sisters, Thelma Daley, Lela Allison and Evelyn Spann. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Winnie Lee (Waymire) Talley of North Little Rock; his two daughters Iris White (husand Ken) of Maryland and Anita Pride (husband Monty) of Sherwood, one son Mark Talley (wife Julie) of Sherwood; three grandsons, Kenny White III (wife Melanie), Daniel Pride, Tim Pride (wife Jenna); four granddaughters, Lisa Subat (husband Brad), Laura Gilliam (husband Jarret), Brittany Rhoden (husband Jamie), Linsey Cantrell (husband Ben); three great-grandsons, Jason Subat, Ian Gilliam, and Kenny White IV; three great-granddaughters, Allison Subat, Caroline White, and Kathryn Gilliam; and one sister, Alene Spires of Cabot. A celebration of his homecoming will be Monday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church of North Little Rock and ministered by Dr. Cary Heard and Dr. Ken Shaddox. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sylvania Cemetery, Cabot, Ark. Memorials may be sent to Park Hill Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
