Syble Abilene (Williams) Thornton, Jan. 4, 1931 - Aug. 14, 2010. Syble Abilene Williams Thornton passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at her home. She was born Jan. 4, 1931 in Centerville, a daughter of William Aaron and Myrtle Satterwhite Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard (Sonny) Williams; her brothers, Doris, Harrest, Faber and Aaron Junior Thomas; her son, Richard L. Williams; and a grandson, Richard (Ricky) Williams. Thornton is survived by her husband, Joel Edward Thornton; her daughters, Donna Erbach (Edd), Deborah Mauldin (Carl); sons, Joe Williams and John Williams (Sandy), all of Conway; stepson, Dave Thornton; stepdaughters, Donna Jo Thornton, Terri Alien (Joe). She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was an accountant and owned her own business, Syble Williams Tax Service for more than 45 years. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Conway. Her interests were bowling, basketball and baseball. She was an avid bowler and sponsored a team for over 30 years. Service will be held at the chapel at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at 3 p.m. with her pastors, Tim Harris and Alton Wall officiating with burial to follow at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier with Adam Erbach, Joshua Williams, Justin Turney, Jim Hancock, Will Black, and Robert Seward as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Taylor Thornton, Casey Williams, Alex Erbach, Blake Erbach and Jake Turney. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 15, at 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
