Essie Mae Hill, 90, of Germantown, Tenn., formerly of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Aug. 14, 2010 in Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. Hill was a member of Cherry Rd Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn., and former member of Baring Cross Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Ark., and a seamstress for Dillard's. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Hill Jr. and one brother, Elva Becknell and survived by four sons, Jerry Hill (Ruth) of Damascus, Ark.; Paul Hill (Shirley) of Gravel Ridge, Ark.; Eddy Hill (Debbie) of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; Walter Hill (Suzanne) of Conway, Ark.; one daughter, Miriam Rea (Larry) of Germantown, Tenn.; three sisters, Irene Morris of Greenfield, Ind., Mabel Hill of Joiner, Ark., and Dolly Beavers of Lilbourn, Mo.; and one brother, Ray Becknell of Joiner, Ark. Twelve grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving Christian mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 from noon to 1 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home and service starting at 1 p.m. in their chapel with interment following at Bassett Cemetery in Bassett, Ark.
