Edith Guthrie, 79, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010. She was born February 27, 1931 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late John D. and Mary M. Cash Lankford. She was a member of Remount Baptist Church, former employee of Westinghouse and Timex. Edith was an avid gardener, never met a stranger and loved life. She never faced a challenge that she didn't conquer. She is survived by two sons, Alan Guthrie and wife, Carolyn of Jacksonville and Dale Guthrie, of Alexander; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Lankford, of Jacksonville and Mary Kasper, of North Little Rock; brother, Buddy Lankford, of Russellville; and brother-in-law, Earl Finch, of North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Guthrie; sister, Ruth Finch; and stepmother, Creo Lankford. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
