Oscar W. Semora, Jr., age 79 of Gibbstown, New Jersey, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010. He was born June 16, 1931 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Oscar Semora, Sr.and Gladys Dennis Semora. A beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Eleanor Wilson Semora; his children; Susan Semora of Suffolk, Virginia, Debra Ogbin and husband Robert of Pittsgrove, New Jersey, Barbara Baran and husband Matt of Little Rock, Linda Morrow of Sherwood, Wayne Semora of Orlando, Florida, Lisa Higgins and husband Robert of Media, Pennsylvania; a brother, Raymond Semora and wife Chris of Michigan; a sister, Barbara Semora of Sherwood; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. Oscar served in the US Army Occupation Forces in Germany. In 1959 he joined the Naval Aviation Engineering Service Unit or NAESU as a Tech Rep. in Washington, D.C., later transferring to Philadelphia in 1966. He was dedicated to furthering Naval Aviation throughout the years, earning the respect of many. In 1978 he received the NAESU Equal Opportunity award. He was appointed NAESU's first Technical Director in 1994 and retired in 1996.Upon retirement he received the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award. Oscar enjoyed flying his airplane and was a member of the Masons and the Gibbstown Senior Citizens Organization. Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 19, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel in Pine Bluff with Reverend Tim Reed officiating.
