Lyndell B. Glover

Lyndell B. Glover, 86, of Sherrill, went to be with her Lord Monday evening, August 16, 2010. She passed from this life at her home on Riverview Ranch in the Pastoria Community. Born April 13, 1924, at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Oliver Earl Brewer and Mildred Lites Brewer Ramick. She was raised at Grapevine, Arkansas, until she was 13. She moved with her family to Oregon during the Great Depression. She graduated from Klamath Falls High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She married her first husband, Jack C. Harrison, on May 14, 1942. They later moved to Pine Bluff where they operated a service station and an auto repair shop. Mr. Harrison died on November 9, 1950. She married Edward L. Glover on May 25, 1952. Mrs. Glover and her husband operated Glover Cattle Company and incorporated it in 1971. At one time they were the largest livestock dealer in Arkansas, shipping as many as 3,000 cattle per week. Mrs. Glover was bookkeeper for all the companies involved in the business operation. She was admired among her peers, as well as the Packers and Stockyards Division of Agriculture for her detailed accounting of all of the livestock. They semi-retired in 1980 but maintained a cow/calf operation on Riverview Ranch, which they purchased in 1958. Mr. Glover died on February 20, 2002. After Mr. Glover's death, Mrs. Glover managed the cow/calf operation and maintained three separate sets of books until her death. She was an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill where she was a past Sunday School Teacher. She was preceded in death by both her husbands, one grandson, Blake Edward Glover; one brother, Othel E. Brewer; and one sister, Wanda L. Lawson. Survivors include two sons, James E. "Jimmy" Glover of Pine Bluff and William L. "Bill" Glover of Russellville; daughter, Gale Glover Jones, and son-in-law, Jack Jones of Sherrill; three grandsons, Elbert C. "Bert" Smith of Sherrill; Clayton and Adam Glover of Russellville; and one great-grandson. Extended family survivors include one step-son, J.C. Harrison of Meadow Vista, California; five step grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill with Reverend John C. Williams officiating.
