Norma Jean Lide

Arkadelphia, AR, 1929 - 2010

Norma Jean Lide of Arkadelphia died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 in Little Rock. She was born Oct. 23, 1929 in Norman, Ark., the daughter of the late Norman L. and Lillie Roberson Langley. She was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School and Henderson State Teachers College (now H.S.U.). She married James (Jim) Orlando Lide in 1954. They resided in Crossett, Ark., where he worked for the Crossett Company, later for Georgia-Pacific until his retirement in 1982. She taught piano and elementary classroom music for 35 years in the Crossett Public Schools. In 1986, they retired to Arkadelphia, Ark. Mrs. Lide was active in various professional, cultural, social, civic and church organizations with special interests in music, reading and traveling. She was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, Jim Lide and one brother, David L. Langley of Mount Ida, Ark. Private services will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
