Robert Horace "Doode" Moore, 86, formerly of Magnolia died Sunday, August 22, 2010 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born July 12, 1924 in Springhill, Louisiana to Robert and Ella Green Moore. Doode graduated from Walkerville School and attended Magnolia A&M and the University of Arkansas. He served in the United States Air Force in World War II and the Korean Conflict, spending time in occupied Japan. He worked 30 years as an auditor with the Legislative Audit Division out of the State Capitol. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ella Mae Smith and Loreen Moore. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn, one daughter, Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Wheatley and husband George of Fayetteville; one granddaughter, Erin and husband Dr. Jonathan Parker of Fayetteville; one great-granddaughter, Wheatley Claire and one great-grandson, Reynolds Philip. He is also survived by one brother, Thomas Moore of Magnolia and numerous friends at Culpepper Place Assisted Living in Springdale. Funeral services will be held at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, August 25 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Larry Kelso officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
