Maebell Ballard Johnson

Maebell Ballard Johnson of Prattsville, Arkansas was born October 2, 1919 at Plumerville, Arkansas the daughter of the late Franklin Marion and Margaret Colclasure Ballard. She was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville. Mrs. Johnson died at her home on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the age of 90. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Bro. John Paul Johnson, a granddaughter, Tammy Johnson, brothers, Joe Ballard and Dolphus Ballard, and sisters, Carrie Ballard Martin and Jessie Ballard. Survivors: son, James Leslie and wife Marilyn Johnson of Western Grove: daughter, Pauline Harrington of Prattsville; sister, Catherine Rollins of Little Rock; two grandsons, Paul Harrington of Summerville, South Carolina and James Leslie Johnson Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one great-grandson, Tyler Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Kristin Johnson and Victoria Harrington and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville with Bro. Neal Pumphrey and Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation: Wednesday 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Wayne Pelton, Gene Sligh, John Ashcraft, Freddy Harrington, Franklin Pumphrey and Brian Harrington.
