Mildred Pearce Henson

Mildred Pearce Henson, age 83, of Little Rock, died November 29, 2010. She was born the youngest daughter to William C. Pearce and Ira M. Turnage Pearce on February 3, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Glen Henson; daughter Rebecca Henson Shadden; her parents; two sisters, Helen Logue and Ruby Upchurch. Mrs. Henson graduated from Little Rock High School in 1944 and attended Harding College for one year after which she began working for the Federal Reserve Bank where she worked for five years. In 1969 she was employed by the Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System where she remained until she retired in 1990. She was a charter member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She is survived by her son-in-law, Jeff Shadden and his wife Linda; grandson, Jason of Richmond, Texas; two nephews and one niece and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss her dearly. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 4th, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. The family of Mrs. Henson would like to thank Dr. Thomas Sneed and staff at Arkansas Oncology, Dr. Benny Green and staff, Chenal Heights Nursing and Rehab staff and her Pleasant Valley Church of Christ family for their treasured and loving care.
