Zelma Edith Jump Brown, age 85, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 6, 2010. Lovingly called "Nanny" by her family, she was born April 27, 1925, in Little Rock, a daughter of the late William Andrew Cook and Jessie Larimore Cook. She became a Christian at age 14, graduated from Robinson High School in 1944, and one week later married William Dewey Jump Jr. They enjoyed 41 years together raising two children and enjoyed being active in church and family life. He passed away in 1985. In 1988 she moved to Ferndale and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. There she met and married William C. "Dub" Brown. They were married 17 years. He passed away in 2010. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Alfred and Chris Cook and sisters, Beulah Pedigo and Mary Lancaster; granddaughter, Kyla Ann Jump, and stepdaughter, Cheryl Hodges. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Ann Williams (Bill); a son, Harold Lynn Jump (Penny); stepdaughter, Charlotte McDaniel; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was caring for and serving others. The family will receive friends at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300 from 5 until 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 8. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home followed by interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
