Lewis J. (Jack) Newton

Lewis J. (Jack) Newton, 83, of Hampton died Tuesday December 7, 2010 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. Born March 8, 1927 in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Robert C. and Mary Verna Tomlinson Newton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hampton and a truck driver for Thermogas. Mr. Newton is survived by his wife, Agnes Newton of Hampton; two sons, Gary Newton and his wife Brenda of Monticello, Pat Newton and his wife Vickie of Hampton; one brother, Jimmy Newton of Hampton; two grandchildren, Jeff Newton and his wife Sara of Monticello, Brent Newton and his wife Shawnee of Hampton; a step-granddaughter, Kerri Allen of Monticello and three great-grandchildren, Cade, Kylie, and Kaleb. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday at the Hampton First Baptist Church with Rev.
