Robert "Bob" Waring Morris, 81, of Little Rock, passed away December 7, 2010. Born in Little Rock to William Nathan and Mary Murchison Morris, he was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon, sang in the church choir and taught a Men's Bible Class. A graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy, Bob attended the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. He then attended Harvard Graduate Business School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge from the service, Bob began farming with his father in the family business where he was a pioneer in precision land-leveling techniques. He was also the owner-operator of Morris Gin Company. He was Mayor of Keo, Arkansas from 1968-1978, a delegate to the National Cotton Council and a member of the Arkansas-Missouri Ginner's Association. Later in his career, he worked in sales for Riverside Acura and in construction as a residential home builder. He was a member of the Little Rock Rotary Club and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Little Rock Community Theatre where he also performed and designed sets. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jean Ann Morris; sons, Mike Morris (Martha) of Little Rock, Steve Morris (Cindy) of Flower Mound, Texas and Bruce Morris of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister, Jean "Sissy" Long (Dr. William E. Long) of Memphis, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Lauren Kaletta, Matthew and Zachary Morris, and Eric and Emily Morris. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Nathan Morris, Jr., sister, Martha Ann Morris and daughter, Lisa Ann Morris. Services will be held on Friday, December 10 at 2 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Steve Hancock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Catholic High School for Boys or to a charity of one's choice.
