William "Bill" Wallace

William Allen "Bill" Wallace, age 85, of Searcy died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2010. He was born in Florida March 10, 1925, the son of William and Dollie Weaver Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a member of the College Church of Christ, a US Navy WWII Veteran, and retired aircraft electrician. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart, Darlene Dowling Wallace. They were married on Nov. 26, 1944, and recently celebrated their 66th anniversary. Their children, William "Buddy" Wallace III, his wife Jennie, Jacksonville, Fla., Cheryl Qualls Riggs, her husband Harry, Searcy, Susan Hill, Lancaster, Pa., Faith Brewer, her husband Nicky, Oxford, Miss.; brother, Fred Soto, his wife Sylvia, Sarasota, Fla.; sisters, Helen Bateman, her husband Harrie, Tampa, Fla., Gaynell Loar and her husband Bob of Chapel Hill, TN. Grandchildren; David Qualls, Lara Noah, Allison Glidewell, Amy Hopper, Aaron Steward, Heather Harrell, Allen Steward, Jason Wallace, and Jennifer Cothren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pete Wallace. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Searcy.
