Samuel Edward Steele

Samuel Edward Steele, age 78, of Benton went to be with his Lord on Dec. 11, 2010. He was born in Bauxite on Jan. 16, 1932. He was raised in the Shaw Community. He was a Korean War Veteran, a truck driver and after retiring he became a full time farmer, rancher and cattleman in the Lonsdale Community. Samuel was a generous and loving man, always placing others before himself, and always sharing his vegetables, fruits, beef and fish from his efforts as a farmer. Preceding him in death are his parents, Felton and Bessie Steele; two brothers, James and Donald Steele; two sisters, Linda Kennedy and Martha Bell. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Steele; his daughters, Debbie Clement and husband Ronnie, Vickie Parish and husband Nelson; son, Ronnie Steele and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Leslie Maroney and husband Mick, Kelly Howell and husband Jimmy, Lacey Cunningham, Mark Parish and wife Michelle, Ashley Steele and Justin Steele; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Cole, Charlotte Turner, Phyliss Henderson and Barbara Tillery; brother, Robert Steele. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors and a wonderful church family. He will be truly missed. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pine Crest Cemetery. Minister will be Bro. Vance Nutt and Bro. Wesley Howard.
