Anna Mae Gardner

Anna Mae Gardner, 82, of White Hall, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born November 29, 1928 in Hot Springs, daughter of John H. And Viola Volentine Nelson. Mrs. Gardner was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff and White Hall, graduating from White Hall High School. In 1974, she earned her nursing degree at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She was a member of First Baptist Church in White Hall. Mrs. Gardner was a charter member of Jefferson County Medical Assistants and past president of the White Hall PTA. Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Dean Gardner; parents; and sister, Katie Woodfield. Survivors include her son, Loy Dean Gardner, II of Belton, Texas; two daughters, Sheila Richardson of Conway and Kay Via of White Hall; two brothers, Henry Joe "Hank" Nelson of Pine Bluff and Edward Andrew "E.A." Nelson of Jefferson; seven grandchildren, Sabrina Smith Mellor, Montye Smith Mickelson, Leslee Smith Tell, Rebecca Gardner Sharp, Kaylan Smith Ellison, Loy (Dean) Gardner III, DeAnna Via Myers; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 16, 2010 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow in White Hall United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Robinson's. Pallbearers will be Byron Connors, Chuck Clark, Jerry Myers, John Gore, Kevin Winners and Lewis Alford. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of White Hall, P.O.
