Sally Earlene Echols, of Sherwood, was born on March 15, 1932, departed this life, Monday, December 13, 2010 at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.J. and Jeanetta Wheat; one sister, Sue Pease; one brother, Edwin Wheat; and her husband of 39 years, Rev. Dorman Basil Echols. She is survived by three sons, Joel Echols (Margaret), David Echols, and James Echols; one daughter, Rebecca McDonald; and four grandchildren, all of Sherwood; and one sister, Nancy Whatley, of Jefferson, Texas. Mrs. Echols and her husband lived in Texarkana, Arkansas, where they established and pastored College Hill Pentecostal Church for 35 years. After her husband's death, she moved to Sherwood, Arkansas, to be near her family. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock. Visitation will be held at First Pentecostal Church, 1401 Calvary Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas, from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at the church at 2 p.m., Wednesday, officiated by Rev. J.N. Holmes. A graveside service will be held at Kildare Cemetery, Kildare, Texas, Thursday at 2 p.m. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.
