Joe Allen Brumett

Joe Allen Brumett, 82, of Pine Bluff died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010. Born in Lonoke County, Ark. on Dec. 28, 1927, a son of the late Allen G. and Minnie Roberson Brumett, he was a graduate of Lonoke High School. Mr. Brumett farmed in the Lonoke area for 40 years, retiring in 1993. Moving to Pine Bluff in 1997, he was a member, deacon, personnel committee chairman, and assistant director of the Adult 3 Sunday School Department at Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a member of Lodge 51 F&AM and Order of the Eastern Star No. 421 in Lonoke. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Cummings Brumett, who he married June 7, 1946 in Lonoke; son, William A. "Bill" Brumett (Judy) of Pine Bluff; daughters, Mary Ruth Rankin (Randy) of Little Rock, Ark. and Tina Mouser (Scott) of Pine Bluff; brothers, Julius E. Brumett of Van Buren, Ark. and Jerry F. Brumett of Lonoke; grandchildren, Terri Brumett Boothman, Allen Brumett, Ashley Arledge, Randy Morton Rankin, Aaron Mouser, Mary Mouser, Laura Mouser, and eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Brumett Hunt. Services are Monday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son. Interment follows in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Robinson's. Memorials are requested to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1801 West 17th, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603 or to the American Heart Association.
