J. F. KELLAR, retired Little Rock District Fire Chief, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior Dec. 18, 2010. He was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Morrilton, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Florence Kellar, brothers Ralph, Ardith, Luther and Dewey Kellar, and sister, Syble Stout. Survivors are his loving wife of 62 years, Wanda Jean Hill Kellar; son, Jerry; daughter, Vicki Adney (John) of Little Rock; grandsons, Jerry Kellar Jr., of Atlanta, Ga., Justin Kellar, Michael and Stephen Adney of Little Rock; sisters, Sula Stobaugh of Conway, Shirley (Joe) Stanley of Carlisle; brother, Ronnie Kellar (Debbie) of Little Rock; sister-in-law, LaVerne Kellar of Jacksonville; and brother-in-law, Leon Stout of Conway. He served in the South Pacific during World War II with the 2nd Marine Division on the Marshall Islands, Saipan, Okinawa, Nagasaki and Saga, Japan. He was with the Little Rock Fire Department for 44 years, a District Fire Chief for 23 years. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501)224-8300. The family will also receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. immediately prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 13th and Garfield, Little Rock.
