Catherine Dominic

Sr. Catherine Dominic, 93, a Dominican Sister of Springfield, died December 19, 2010. She was born to Maurice and Catherine (Galvin) Stack in Chicago, Ill. She joined the Springfield Dominicans in 1938. During most of her years in ministry, Sister served in nursing and health care administration. For 44 years, she ministered at St. Mary-Rogers Memorial Hospital (now known as Mercy Health System of Northwest, Ark.). Sister was Director of Pastoral Care at St. Mary-Rogers Memorial Hospital in Rogers, Ark. from 1983-1994 and Chaplain there from 1994-2004. In 2004, she retired to Sacred Heart Convent, Springfield, Ill. Sr. Catherine Dominic was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and two sisters. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in the auditorium at Mercy Hospital, Rogers, Ark.
