Edith V. Bennett

Edith V. Bennett, 102, of Sidon, went to be with Jesus Monday, December 20, 2010. She was born Monday, May 19, 1908, to the late Allen and Mattie Price. She taught school in the Rosebud, Sidon and Honey Hill areas. She served as the Post Master in the Sidon area for 20 years and was a very active member of the Sidon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Phen Bennett and three brothers, Hubert, Wendell and Kenneth Price. Mrs. Bennett is survived by two sons, Keith Bennett and his wife, Alma, of Searcy and Mike Bennett and his wife, Kathy, of Sherwood; one brother, Jack Price and his wife, Ann, of Judsonia; a sister-in-law, Porter Price, of St. Francisville, La.; five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a whole host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Bennett's visitation will be at Sidon Baptist Church from 1-2 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010, with her funeral service starting at 2 p.m., with Bro. Norman Miller and Bro. Ron Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Sidon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Bennett, Kary Bennett, Todd Underwood, Sean Hancock, Eric McNair and Tyler McNair.
