Nita Joy Dollar

Nita "Joy" Dollar, 81, of Shirley, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at Ozark Health Medical Center, Clinton, Arkansas. She was born January 10, 1929 at Shirley, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Devy and Violet (White) Cates. Joy was a graduate of Shirley High School. Joy had many occupations during her life and was a hard – working, woman. She was blessed with an outgoing and charming personality and all that knew her couldn't help but love her, as she was beautiful inside and out. She lived life with enthusiasm and kindness. No one has ever been more appropriately named than she was when her parents named her Joy, because she almost always wore a smile and brought joy to all that knew her. She was a talented woman who loved to sew and quilt. But most of all, she loved her family. Some of her fondest times were spent with her family; she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her, parents and her husband, she also has two brothers, Marvin and Lanie, sister, Ruth, that are awaiting her in Heaven. She is survived by her brother Buck Cates of Shirley, Ark.; and her sister Blanche of Cedar Lake, Ind., her son Larry Dollar and his wife Mary Ann of Shirley, Ark.; two grandsons, Larry Dollar, Jr., of Maumelle, Ark.; and Jody Dollar of Shirley, Ark.; she was blessed with four great-grandchildren; Cody Dollar of Shirley, Ark.; and Devin, Elizabeth, and Matthew Dollar all of Maumelle, Ark. Pallbearers: Larry Dollar, Jr., Jody Dollar, Cody Dollar, Devin Dollar, Mitchell Cates, and Danny Cates. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010 and funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Arkansas with Pastor Bobby Ward officiating.
