Carolyn Virginia Speer

Carolyn Virginia Speer, age 76, of Little Rock, was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 21, 2010. She was born December 19, 1934 in Buckville, Arkansas to the late Roy J. and Ola E. Pool. Mrs. Speer was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Mabelvale and the Order of Eastern Star (Adoniram #604 and Esther #217). She retired from Firemen's Fund Insurance Company where she was a Commercial Line Underwriter. Mrs. Speer was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters, Vera Hollowoa, Lucille DuBose, Lena Goad, Doris Burks and Kitty Jenkins. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dorman Preston Speer, of Little Rock; daughter, Brenda Speer McCullough and husband Bill, of Benton; son, Douglas Speer and wife Melinda, of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Paul McCullough, Pam Clayborn and Shelly Mann and three great-grandchildren, Austin McCullough, Shelby Mann and Lindsey Mann. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 26 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 27 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Mabelvale with burial at Ten Mile Cemetery. Bro. Robbie Horne will be officiating.
