Vera Margaret Dinning

Vera Margaret Dinning, (Mrs. W. G. Jr.), was accepted into the arms of her eternal Savior on December 18, 2010. She was born to Walter S. Brown and Elva M. Brown in Brinkley, Arkansas. Vera Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Dorothy B. Millard and Evelyn B. Towns. Vera Margaret graduated cum laude from Brinkley High School moving on for a year at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She graduated from The University of Arkansas with a major in journalism. While there she was president of Pi Beta Phi sorority and met an aspiring young law student from Helena, Arkansas. They eventually married and settled in Helena, where Vera Margaret was very active in Church and civic undertakings. Mrs. Dinning's survivors include her husband, William "Bill" G. Dinning Jr., of Helena and Greers Ferry, Arkansas, and daughters, S. Sharum Dinning and Darcy L. Dinning, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and sons W. Groves Dinning III, of Stratham, New Hampshire, and J. Tanner and Katie Dinning, of South Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and granddaughter Arleigh Cara Dinning, of Boston, Massachusetts. Vera Margaret will be remembered for her flair for style and ingenuity, indomitable spirit and her lifelong dedication to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family would like to express deep appreciation and acknowledgment of the respectful care of the doctors and staff of Heber Springs Baptist Hospital. Services were held at Holiday Hills United Methodist Church in Greers Ferry, Arkansas, on Tuesday morning, December 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. Burial took place at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas, at approximately 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
