Ruth Elizabeth Cooper Haynes

Ruth Elizabeth Cooper Haynes, 92, died at home on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in Yell County, Ark., on March 5, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ray Haynes; her son, Eldred A. Haynes; and daughter, Georgia Ann Haynes Mannis. Ruth is survived by daughter, Altha Lola Haynes Thurgood of Stuttgart; five grandchildren, Eldrina Haynes Easterly of Benton, Rhonda Thurgood Reitz of Augusta, Ga., Mona Haynes Poplawski of Cloudcroft, N.M., Melissa Mannis of DeWitt and Tom Thurgood of Gulf Breeze, Fla. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart Sunday, Dec. 26. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at New Hope Baptist Church in Dardanelle. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice.
