Audrey Star Burns Ackley

Audrey Star Burns Ackley died on Dec. 21, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Austin, Texas, having celebrated her 100th birthday in September. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Charles Ackley. Audrey is survived by her two daughters, Kay Ackley (George) Kitzmiller and Kathleen Ackley (Earl) Ramsey. She leaved dearly beloved grandchildren Ellen Kitzmiller Marcoux, Ann Elizabeth Kitzmiller, George Charles Kitzmiller, Kristan Schoultz, Jennifer Schoultz and Karin Schoultz Wootton. Treasured rewards of a long life are three great-grandchildren, Joshua Shipman, George Ryan Kitzmiller and Vivian Marcoux. Audrey was also deeply devoted to a host of nephews, nieces and cousins who enriched her life. Audrey's family expresses appreciation to the staff of Parmer Woods Assisted Living Facility, Hospice Austin and Visiting Angels. Especial appreciation goes to Kate Forest for her friendship and car during Audrey's time in Austin. A funeral service will take place in Las Animas, Colo., on Jan. 5, 2011. Reverend Diane Hutson will officiate.
