Vanda Johnson, 62, of Sherwood was born in Prattsville, Ark., on Dec. 4, 1948 and passed away on Dec. 21, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Douglas Johnson; daughters Donnae' McFadin (Steve) of Little Rock, Tonya Britton (Paul) of Sherwood; one brother Gary Gatlin (Kim) of Little Rock; her grandchildren Brandon Vocque (Megan), Joshua, Taylore, Christopher McFadin, Paul-Douglas Pierce Britton; one great grandchild Bailey Vocque; parents Myrt and Tommy Gatlin; a lifelong friend and sister Cheryl Maack; nieces LeAnn Nugent (Brandon), Kimberley Gatlin; nephews Brock Sempstrott, Coltan Gatlin; her aunt Joyce Garmer (Russ); their son Dr. Joe Garmer and a host of extended family and friends. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was the glue that held her family together and for always being there for family and friends and for never being able to say no. Some of her favorite things included working with porcelain, shopping (especially Christmas shopping) and reading but her most enjoyable pastime was her family. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock were she was a member of the Back to the Basics Sunday School class. She was retired from the investment banking and currently enjoyed hairstyling. Visitation is on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in North Little Rock from 2– 4 p.m. Funeral services are Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rod Loy and Pastor John Long.
