Jimmy Sterling Powell

Jimmy Sterling Powell, age 82, of Hensley, Arkansas died on Friday, December 24, 2010. He was the only child of Sterling Powell and Winnie Powell Young, who preceded him in death. Jimmy was a retired SFC (E-7) US Army combat veteran. He served two tours in Korea, and served in Japan, Germany, Italy, and several stateside assignments. After retirement he worked for Trailways Bus Lines as a terminal manager. When Trailways merged with Greyhound Bus Lines, Jimmy became the franchise owner of the Greyhound Bus station in North Little Rock, and worked there until his retirement in 1986. Jimmy was an avid horseman and took pleasure in breeding and training them. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: his wife of 44 years, Margie, a step-father, B.D. Young of Fort Worth, Texas, sister in law, Barbara Quash, nephew, Darien (Kim) Quash, two grand-nephews, James Anthony an Matthew Quash, as well as several cousins and friends. His homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday, December 30th, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 29th from 5-6:30 p.m. Both services will be held at First Baptist Church, Highland Park, 3800 W. 18th Street, Little Rock, Ark., Dr. W.W.
