Marilyn Louise Carlson

Marilyn Louise Carlson, 84 year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died December 24, 2010 at Quail Ridge Living Center. Born July 24, 1926 in Beresford, South Dakota, she was the daughter of Thure Swanson and Tillie Satter Swanson. Marilyn graduated from Beresford High School where she was Homecoming Queen in 1944. She married Nelse Martin Carlson in Carthage, Missouri on March 1, 1946. Marilyn was a Lutheran Ladies Society and of the Lutheran faith. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter, Debra Sue Carlson. Survivors include four sons, Steven Carlson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Michael Bruce Carlson of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Richard Alan Carlson of Paramount, California and Mark Carlson of Atlanta, Georgia; four brothers, Thure R. Swanson of Beresford, South Dakota, Charles Swanson of Raleigh, North Carolina, James Swanson of Wadesville, Indiana and Anthony Swanson of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two sisters, Patricia Messler and Beverly Edblom of Beresford, South Dakota; three grandchildren, Chad Carlson of Little Rock, Alex Carlson of Atlanta and Jennifer Thomason of Charlotte, North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Addie Thomason and Emily Jane Thomason of Charlotte and Julie Kate Carlson of Little Rock. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Park Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. Burial will follow.
