Gayla Spears

Gayla Spears, of Minden, Louisiana, was born June 4, 1961 at Bad Kreuzmach, Germany, to Robert H. and Vicla Johnson. She passed away December 26, 2010 at Shreveport, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband J. Michael Spears, grandparents, Bill Johnson, Ruby Nell Thompson, Claude Flewellen, Viva Flewellen, and Uncle Jimmy Johnson. She is survived by her parents, Bob and Vicla Johnson of Minden, Louisiana; sisters and brothers in-law, Susan and Jimmy Ashmore of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Michele and Sam Bishop of Minden, Louisiana; nephews, Heath Ashmore of Star City, Arkansas, and Justin and Zane Bishop of Minden, Louisiana. Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, Arkansas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 31, at the Harris Chapel. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be Bobby Hoyt, Ricky Hoyt, Steven Hoyt, Perry Windle, Steven Johnson and Dwight Dicus. Gayla will be remembered by her friends for her energy, beauty and her zest for life. We believe she was met at the heavenly gates by a host of family and friends.
