Suzan Vance Harness

Suzan Lynn "Sue" Vance Wilson Harness of Buckville, formerly of Sheridan, was born October 15, 1956 at Sheridan, the daughter of Ed and Shirley McGhee Vance. She was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan, and was a branch manager for First National Bank at Hot Springs Village. You didn't have to know her long to discover that Sue was an avid collector of all things, "butterflies". Sue had a smile that was like no other and her outgoing personality made her a joy to be around. Mrs. Harness died Monday, December 27, 2010 at her home in Buckville, surrounded by her family, at the age of 54. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Paul Wilson, a granddaughter, Brandy Harness and a sister, Rita Mayhugh. Survivors include her husband, Larry Harness of Buckville; son, Eric Harness and wife Amber of Poyen; daughter, Amanda Gossage of Buckville; parents, Ed and Shirley Vance of Sheridan; brothers, Eddie Vance and wife Sherry of Sheridan, Robert Vance and wife Kim of Prattsville and Jeff Vance and wife Rhonda of Sheridan; sister, Channell "Sissy" Barnes and husband Lenny of Sheridan; grandmother, Celia McGhee of Sheridan; grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Haley, Kyle and Austin Harness, Cheyenne and Mitchell Gossage. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Jon Cox officiating.
